The chic city of Cape Town is a must visit. The city is set against the backdrop of a glorious mountain range, including the brilliant and famous Table Mountain. Cape Town is one of the best cities in South Africa, and offers some of the best views, activities as well as entertainment and luxury resorts. Top hot spots in Cape Town include the swanky Victoria & Albert Waterfront, an expansive entertainment centre with an array of stores, cafes, restaurants, bars, as well as various activities including helicopter tours, historical tours and festivals. If you want to experience the outdoors, be near to nature and have the African sun shine down on you, a hike up either Table Mountain or Lion’s Head will be the perfect adventure. There are also cable cars that go up to Table Mountain most days, weather permitting, and it is best to arrive early, and have breakfast as you watch the sun move its way up the bright blue African sky. Cape Town is also in close proximity to the historic Robben Island where Nelson Mandela and many other Apartheid freedom fighters were held. Ferry rides to the island, where you receive a tour, are readily available. To experience the beautiful vast marine life, there is also the Two Oceans Aquarium. Cape Town also has renowned beaches such as Clifton and the up-market Camps Bay, and Cape Point, where the two oceans are reportedly said to meet, although some people believed the Atlantic and Indian Ocean actually meet at Cape Agulhas. Both are stunning and make for the perfect family outing. Cape Town makes a wonderful and unique honeymoon destination.
The Kruger National Park is one of South Africa’s most famous national parks. This giant park is home to a variety of animals, including the Big 5 (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, as well as leopard), thousands of antelope, buck and zebra. Kruger offers various safari activities and luxury accommodation to ensure you have a comfortable stay in the African wilderness. Activities include guided game drives, group hikes on the wilderness trail, as well as night drives, where there’s a better chance of seeing lion as they are mostly awake at night, as well as the early morning.
To experience some amazing coastline, a trip along the famous Garden Route is recommended, where you can stop at gorgeous towns such as Knysna, Mossel Bay, Plettenberg Bay and the Cape Winelands, including the idyllic town of Franschhoek. South Africa has a range of small towns that have brilliant views, especially along the Klein Karoo, especially Oudtshoorn, a small town famous for its ostriches and the renowned Cango Caves, which can be explored.
